Newly discovered 8mm clips from the 1980 Civilian tour! Newly discovered 8mm clips from the 1980 Civilian tour!

The clips were first discovered from the Genesis Museum YouTube page who restored and digitized the original film reel. It is believed the footage is from May 13th, 1980 in Cleveland, OH but has not been confirmed.

Since it was was recorded in 8mm with no sound, Gentle Giant fan CJ Irwin has been kind enough to sync the audio with a live recording from the same tour, using the tracks "For Nobody" and "Number One."

CJ Irwin commented: " I got the video synced as best as I could with bits of the two songs featured. For the audio I went with the Toad's Place concert recording, as the source for its unparalleled quality compared to other recordings from the tour."

While, the clips are a bit sporadic, it is great to finally get a glimpse into the the energy from the Boys in the Band on what would be the very last tour!
